Read the E-Book on your Mac

Important: Do not attempt to open your E-Book until you have authorized your computer and the E-Book reader program from Adobe.
Below are the steps to follow in detail to facilitate this process.

To read your e-book on your Mac, you must use the free program Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)

For compatibility reasons, you must use version 4.5.9 or later of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE).

STEP 1: Check the version of Digital Editions installed on your Mac

Open the Adobe Digital Editions program.

For compatibility reasons, you should check the version number installed on your Mac by clicking on the "Adobe Digital Editions" menu and then "About Adobe Digital Editions".

Check the version number installed on your Mac,
it must be greater than or equal to 4.5.9.

Click now below on the result that corresponds to your verification:

You can then go directly to step 2 below "AUTHORIZING YOUR DEVICE".

Do not open your E-Book before you have verified that Adobe Digital Editions is already authorized by Adobe, otherwise you will not be able to open it on several devices belonging to you, but only on one.

STEP 2: Check and Authorize your Mac for Adobe

The E-Book uses the Adobe DRM system. This is the most used system in the world. For this, you must be registered with Adobe. Registration is free and also allows access to thousands of E-Books using this system.
To verify it, do the following two tests:

A - Verification

Open the Adobe Digital Editions program.

Computer ALREADY AUTHORIZED

Click on the "Help" menu (1), then "Authorization Info" (2).
If a window opens, you are already authorized, and your Adobe ID appears (3).

Computer NOT YET AUTHORIZED

Click in the menu on "Help", then on "Allow".
If a window opens, you are not authorized on this computer yet.

B - Authorization

If you already have an Adobe ID, use it. This allows you to use your E-Book on several devices belonging to you (PC, Mac, smartphone or tablet).

If you do not have an Adobe account yet, just create one for free. This account will allow you to install your ebook on other devices belonging to you (desktop or laptop, smartphone, tablet).

Click on the "Create Adobe ID" link.

Fill out the form to create your Adobe account. Note the password, because you will need it to authorize your Mac (or any other device belonging to you if you want to read your ebook too).

Go back to the Authorization screen and enter your Adobe ID and password to authorize your Mac.
Once you have successfully completed the authorization, you can go to Step 3 to open your e-book.

You can then go directly to step 3 below "OPEN YOUR EBOOK".
